1. Myles Murphy – Defensive End, JR

  • RTR 200 Ranking: 155
  • Fourth-team All-American selection from Phil Steele in 2021
  • 94 tackles
  • 26.0 tackles for loss
  • 11.0 sacks
  • 5 forced fumbles
  • 3 pass breakups

Like Bresee, Murphy showed up ready to play as a freshman, and was called on quickly when Xavier Thomas and Justin Foster weren’t ready to play at the beginning of the 2020 season. It did not take long for the NFL to take notice of Murphy.

Murphy currently sits at #10 on PFF’s Big Board for the 2023 NFL Draft. There is one reason that Murphy is first on RTR’s list of players most likely to leave early over Bresee: resiliency. Murphy has been injury-resistant so far, while Bresee has not been as fortunate.
