DJU took his share of criticism in 2021, but part of the reason expectations were so high is because he had already entered the record books for Clemson. Uiagalelei’s 439 yards at Notre Dame in 2020 is the third best single game total in Clemson history. Only Deshaun Watson and Tajh Boyd have eclipsed it in a Tiger uniform. It was the most passing yards ever by a freshman in Clemson history.
