Building the RTR 200: Who are the best Clemson football players of all-time?
By John Chancey
Marcus Edmond – Cornerback, 2013-16
- 26 career tackles
- 1 tackle for a loss
- 1 interception
Edmond was a reserve for most of his Clemson career, only starting three games. His stat sheet may not be impressive, but it was one of his 26 tackles and his one career interception that made a huge impact. Edmond made the final stop against Louisville in 2016 to preserve the victory.
He then sealed Clemson’s miracle win against NC State later that season by intercepting Ryan Finley’s final pass in overtime.
Bottom line: Clemson would not have won the 2016 National Championship without Marcus Edmond.
