Clemson offensive lineman Will Putnam (56) is doing “thousands and thousands” of snaps as he moves to center this spring.Clemson Football Practice August 12 /

Center – Again, the basics.  Snaps from center to quarterback need to be on time and crisp.  It’s true, there’ll be new centers snapping the ball, whether it’s Will Putnam, Ryan Linthicum or Trent Howard, but the next time we see these guys practice it’ll be a month out from opening day and a shaky performance will leave lingering doubts.

The coaches have said all the right things, but I think we heard something similar last spring.

2021 showed us how crucial this position is in the big scheme of the offense and Clemson fans will no longer take it for granted.
