Five Things I Am Looking For In The Clemson Spring Game
By John Chancey
Who is stepping up at cornerback?
The biggest holes that need to be filled for 2022 are at cornerback. Andrew Booth and Mario Goodrich are moving on to the NFL. Sheridan Jones introduced himself to Clemson Nation in the 2019 Spring Game. He has seen the field quite a bit in the last two campaigns, with mixed results. Jones says he has gotten his confidence back now, and he would appear to be the most likely to grab one of the starting positions, but nothing is certain.
Nate Wiggins is young but talented, and if he can continue to develop physically, he will get strong consideration for the other spot. Presumably they will be on opposite teams and have a chance to take on the opponent’s best wide receiver. Early enrollee Toriano Pride will also have an opportunity to show what he can do in his first action.
