DJ Uiagalelei and Cade Klubnik

This seems too easy of an answer, but it’s the truth. Quarterback is the most important position on the field, and last year DJU didn’t live up to expectations. We have heard about his physical training during the offseason, and it is promising to know that he has dedicated himself to improving. We have also heard about Klubnik’s natural leadership skills and the quick progress he has made in just a few spring practices.

I am looking forward to seeing how both perform in a live football environment. It is important to keep spring game performances in perspective because it is still a long time until the season kicks off, but how they perform in April sets the stage for when they get back on the field in summer.

A big performance by DJU can go a long way to rebuilding the team’s confidence in him. Similarly, a promising showing by Klubnik can convince the coaches that he deserves an opportunity to get playing time early this season, just like Trevor Lawrence in spring 2018.
