Cornerback play

Those that know about me and my lack of recruiting eyes, knows how much I love a good hip swivel.

Gone are Mario Goodrich and Andrew Booth, Jr., the stalwarts on the edges for the Tigers a season ago.

Goodrich, or “Rio” as his friends call him was a diamond in the rough. A guy who waited his turn and ultimately made himself some money with an extremely productive 2021 season.

Booth was the more lauded of the two DBs, but this duo was extremely valuable to a team that figured things out after a tough loss to Pitt and rattled off 6 straight wins to end the season.

John Chancey wrote about the corners here.

I look forward to seeing Sheridan Jones be the next Goodrich and take that next step to be the guy on the edge. I really wanted to see early enrollee Jeadyn Lukus, but he is being held out of the game.

Another true freshman that will be playing is Toriano Pride. It will be good to see him on the field taking reps and seeing the matchups on the outside against the WRs. Which leads me to.
