As we’ve detailed previously Clemson Football enters April with one verbal commit, Nathaniel Joseph, in the 2023 class to date.

While it’s not time to panic, it’s worth noting that the teams ranked within the top 10 have an average of 8.6 players committed as April begins.

Some of those teams certainly won’t be in the top 10 at the end, but it’s instructive to know that the Tigers are a tad behind, at least in terms of numbers.

That doesn’t mean they haven’t been working, laying the groundwork, planting seeds that they hope eventually bare fruit and we may be seeing some movement in that direction.

Things are beginning to move along with some making decisions soon and others returning for another visit.

We’ve brought you a couple of updates on Clemson’s only quarterback offer other than Arch Manning, Chris Vizzina.

Vizzina will be returning for another round in Tiger Town on Monday.

In addition, four star offensive lineman Sullivan Absher is scheduled to return for next weekend’s spring game.

Absher appears high on the Tigers and a return trip can’t hurt.

"“The biggest thing I like about them is how consistently they develop their players. They’ll never have the best recruiting class, but year in and year out they produce high level character teams that win. Coach Swinney is a real high character coach who knows how to get players to buy in to his program and coach Austin is a really knowledgeable coach and teacher who can relate to his players.”"

In my mind I had given up on 5 star defensive end Peter Woods of Alabaster, Alabama.  He’s from that state, has a Crystal Ball Prediction for the Tide and it just seemed like the momentum was headed in that direction, which is not difficult to understand.

Things change quickly in recruiting, though, so I’m going to keep this one on the backburner, but not completely closed for now.

The Tide has to be the favorite, but weirder things have happened.

Finally, Josiah Trotter, the brother of current Tiger Jeremiah Trotter, announced he’ll be committing April 15th.

Many fans believe because his brother plays at Clemson that gives the Tigers an edge, if for no other reason than familiarity with the program.

Maybe.  Maybe not, as we saw with Trevor Etienne ending up at Florida.

Sure, there’s a difference in following your brother when he’s a legend, I get that, but I don’t necessarily believe one Trotter equals two Trotters in  Clemson.

Trotter is a 4 star linebacker from Philadelphia with a final five of Clemson, South Carolina, Penn State, West Virginia and Virginia Tech in his final group to choose from.
