As we wrote last Saturday, this past weekend was a big one for Clemson’s recruiting efforts for both 2023 and 2024.

To that end, the Tigers gave out two more 2023 offers over the weekend.

Jamal Anderson, a 6’4, 195 pound linebacker from Hoschton, Georgia and the son of former Atlanta Falcon of the same name, was impressed with his offer from the Tigers.

Anderson is a four star recruit, the thirtieth ranked linebacker and three hundred forty first ranked player overall.

Anderson has a bevy of offers, including Texas, Southern Cal, Miami and North Carolina.

It’ll be interesting to track his ranking to see if he moves up the rankings given those offers.

The other offer was made to Branden Strozier, a 6’2, 175 pound cornerback from Alpharetta, Georgia.

Despite being ranked as a three star recruit and in the lower three hundreds overall, Strozier reports offers from a good chunk of the SEC, including Alabama, along with  Clemson and Florida State among others.

Clemson has some ground to make up in the 2023 class as the Tigers have only one commitment, wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph from Miami, Florida.

Most other top schools have multiple commits at this point (Notre Dame has 9, for example), but Alabama only has two.

That said, it’s a bit odd to see Clemson currently seventh in the ACC, though we all know when all is said and done Clemson will be at or near the top of the league and in the top ten nationally.

It’s relatively early in the process, but things tend to ramp up quickly as spots get filled and many recruits want their decision out of the way prior to their senior seasons.

The coming months are crucial for Dabo Swinney and staff in setting the foundation for the 2023 recruiting class after the defections from the defensive side of the 2022 class mostly due to Brent Venables moving on to be the head man at Oklahoma.
