Five potential replacements for Clemson football if Tony Elliott left for TCU

4. Jeff Lebby (Ole Miss offensive coordinator)

This is just a pipedream, but if you’re Clemson you at least have to make a phone call.

Jeff Lebby is one of the brightest offensive minds in college football today and it won’t be long before he’s offered a head coaching job somewhere, it may even happen this offseason.

Still, if you’re Clemson seeking a new offensive coordinator, don’t you at least have to put the money on the table and find out?

Clemson is paying Tony Elliott around $2 million currently. Lebby is making $1.2 million at Ole Miss. The Tigers could use a major upgrade in salary to potentially convince Lebby to make the jump and you also have to think about program brand power here, as well.

There’s no denying that Ole Miss is trending in the right direction, but other than this season Clemson has been the standard in College Football. That kind of program power mixed with the right amount of money– say $2.2 million– could potentially be enough to lure Lebby away from the Rebels and get him to Tiger Town for a couple of seasons.

The problem here, though, is that it wouldn’t be long before he was leaving for a head coaching position at a Power-5 program.
