Five Clemson football players who need more playing time the rest of the 2021 season

3. LB Barrett Carter

Barrett Carter was hardly seen during the first half of the season, but he got his first start against Pittsburgh and has been playing a ton the past couple of weeks.

That absolutely needs to continue.

Carter has been compared to Isaiah Simmons and the way he plays, it’s easy to see why.

He’s physical and has great explosiveness and closing speed. Putting him on the field with Trenton Simpson can be dangerous and it’s clear that he’s going to be a major focal point for the defense in 2022.

So, why not get him on the field more now?

Let him learn playing alongside James Skalski and Baylon Spector. Let him see the offenses and begin to gain a better understanding for what’s going to be expected beginning next season.
