Five Clemson football players who need more playing time the rest of the 2021 season

2. TE Jake Briningstool

Jake Briningstool may not have seen the field during the first portion of the season, but he has made a big impression when he has gotten his chances.

Briningstool had a nice 11-yard reception this past weekend against Florida State and he saw some playing down the stretch against Pittsburgh, as well.

As far as being a complete tight end, he clearly has the highest ceiling of anyone else at the position. Briningstool has a good reach and he has shown that he can do both– blocking & receiving.

With Braden Galloway out, it’s time to work Briningstool on the field more often and to let him get some looks. Perhaps even a two-tight-end set with Davis Allen could be in order.
