The Clemson football team rebounded following a loss last weekend to Pittsburgh with a 30-20 home win over ACC Atlantic Division rival Florida State on Saturday.

Following the win, the official Clemson football Twitter account found a way to brilliantly troll sports bettors everywhere who talked about the Tigers’ bad beat.

Clemson tweeted several photos of Barrett Carter following his last-second touchdown that lifted the Tigers to 30 points with the caption “In need of a touchdown, Barrett’s got you covered.”

The touchdown allowed Clemson to cover a 9.5 point spread, the first time in which the Tigers have covered the spread all season.

It might have been a backdoor cover, but Clemson football covered for the first time this season and that’s a nice accomplishment

For those who missed the final play of the game yesterday, Florida State had the ball down 24-20 and attempted a series of laterals in an attempt to somehow come away with a miraculous touchdown play.

The ball eventually got away from the offense and Barrett Carter recovered and fell into the end zone with time expired.

Say what you want to about the backdoor cover or about the fact that the Tigers needed a last second touchdown, but it’s still a major victory for a team that has been struggling all season to find any kind of sustained success.

Florida State isn’t back on the level of “elite” by any means, but that was a team with tons of momentum and motivation coming into the game and the Tigers somehow found a way to weather some mistakes and come away with a win.

This hasn’t been a fun season by any means, but it is a testament to this team that they continue to grow and– despite the setbacks and criticisms, which we’ll talk about– haven’t given up.
