3. He thrives when no one believes in him

By now, everyone knows the backstory of Dabo Swinney.

No one believed in him from an early age and the likelihood that he would’ve ever even been named the Interim Head Coach is next to zero, much less that he would somehow win the job, turn the program around and build it to have the kind of success that we’ve seen in the last decade.

This is still the same Dabo Swinney.

Swinney thrives when no one believes in him. He’s a competitor just as much as anyone and if you think he’s not frustrated by this abysmal season, you’re sorely mistaken.

He has shown a willingness to change before and while he’s not coming out and talking about potential changes in the media, there’s no doubt in our mind that he is considering everything possible to bring this program back to the level it has enjoyed over the last decade.

It’s totally understandable to be frustrated. It’s totally understandable to criticize and to want changes to occur. 

But, the one thing we’ll say is this: Dabo Swinney has earned the right to prove that he’s not going anywhere. He has earned the right for Tiger fans to still believe in him– even if they have fair criticisms– during this down period and if we know anything about his life journey, it’s that he’ll come out even better on the other side of this.

Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, but we believe that he’ll find a way to turn around this Clemson football program.
