Five problems that aren’t going away for Clemson football even after 2021 ends

4. Conservative play-calling & a system that needs transformation

Whether it’s Tony Elliott or someone else, this Clemson offensive system has to be transformed this offseason.

The conservative play-calling that the Tigers have lived by in the past isn’t working and the offense needs to transform with innovation and a new sense of identity.

What does that look like? For starters, you’ve got to start attacking defenses rather than just settling for what the defense gives you.

In today’s College Football, a team is only going as far as their offense will take them and we’re seeing one of the worst offenses in Clemson football history currently take the field. That means it’s time for a transformation to happen in how the offense is run, coached, called and executed.

It can’t be denied any longer. What was working for Clemson three years ago isn’t going to get the job done today. Either Elliott has to find a way to fix it or Swinney has to find someone who will because– let’s be real– right now, it’s broken.
