Five problems that aren’t going away for Clemson football even after 2021 ends

2. Wide Receivers who drop too many passes & can’t play physical

The wide receivers aren’t going to magically stop dropping passes that they shouldn’t. Not without major work put in, anyway.

Clemson WRs Coach Tyler Grisham has his work cut out for him– if there isn’t a change here– because his positional unit has been nothing short of atrocious, at least for the most part, the entire season.

Joseph Ngata has shown flashes and has been the best player on this offense, but there have been far too many mistakes from this unit to call them well-coached or anything close to what they should be when you look at the pure talent.

The wide receivers have to learn how to create separation and even though this is a big-bodied group, they let defensive backs out-physical them far too often.

Clemson needs more versatility in the wide receiver core and the Tigers absolutely need their WRs to become more physical and willing to battle for 50/50 balls rather than settle for trying to draw a flag. There is talent in this unit, but they’ve got a long way to go to get back to being considered ‘WRU.’
