If you’re looking for healthy bodies on the Clemson football team, you’ll likely have a harder time than if you were looking for injuries.

Though the Clemson football program has been relatively fortunate in the last half-decade in terms of injuries, it seems that five years worth of injuries are mounting up on this current 2021 team.

Through just five games, Clemson has already seen several players go down with season-ending injuries and many others are banged up as we head into the bye week.

The bye week injured list for Clemson football is ridiculously long

Here’s a look at Clemson’s current injured list with the players’ injury and their status.

Out for season:

  • QB/WR Will Taylor (Torn ACL)
  • DT Bryan Bresee (Torn ACL)
  • S Lannden Zanders (shoulder)
  • OL John Williams (Torn ACL)
  • OL Tayquon Johnson (Torn Pectoral)

Others:

  • DT Tyler Davis (Torn bicep, out for 5-6 more weeks)
  • RB Will Shipley (Leg injury, out for at least 3 more weeks)
  • OL Mason Trotter (Broken hand, no timeframe disclosed)
  • DT Tre Williams (undisclosed injury)
  • DT Demonte Capehart (keen injury, no timeframe disclosed)
  • CB Malcolm Greene (shoulder, no timeframe disclosed)
  • CB Fred Davis (ankle, no timeframe disclosed)
  • WR Frank Ladson Jr. (groin, hopeful to play next week)
  • WR EJ Williams (thumb, knee, hopeful to play next week)
  • WR Justyn Ross (concussion, no timeframe disclosed)
  • TE Braden Galloway (concussion, no timeframe disclosed)

Oh, and we also shouldn’t forget that two starting linebackers in James Skalski and Baylon Spector have missed time this season with injuries, as well, and there might be some lingering effects from those as we continue through the season.

The hope is that the majority of those players listed on the ‘other’ section– minus Tyler Davis and Will Shipley, who’ll still be recovering– will be back by the Syracuse game, but no timeframe has been disclosed and many of these guys, including some who aren’t even on the list, are banged up and it’s going to take some time before they’re back at 100 percent.

The bye week undoubtedly came at a good time for Clemson football and hopefully we’ll see a much healthier and fresh Tiger team take the field when they travel up to Syracuse next Friday night.
