The Clemson football program will once again get a chance at impressing a priority 2023 recruiting target.

5-star QB Arch Manning has reportedly told several media outlets that he will be back in Clemson for the Tigers’ matchup against Florida State on Saturday, October 30th. In addition, it has been reported that Clemson QBs Coach Brandon Streeter will be at Manning’s high school football game this Friday night, though the two won’t be able to formally talk.

Manning is currently rated as the No. 1 overall player in the nation by 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings.

He recently did an interview with 247 Sports and had nothing but glowing things to say about the Clemson football program.

"“Clemson was awesome,” Manning said. “The people there are so nice it seems unreal. They’re great, Coach (Dabo) Swinney and Streeter, they’re awesome. I went to dinner with the whole offensive staff and it was amazing. Clemson, the culture over there is different and it was definitely a great place to visit. The people and the culture, I feel like everyone there is happy around the facility and it seems like a great environment and that’s something I’d want to be a part of.”"

Clemson football has its sights set on the generation talent at QB for the 2023 class, but competition will be stiff

Arch Manning is the lone QB offer in the class of 2023 for Clemson and we can expect for things to stay that way as long as his recruitment is open and as long as the Tigers remain a contender.

That being said, the competition for his services features some of the top programs and recruiters in the nation.

Alabama, Georgia and Clemson all seem to be at the top of his list while Ole Miss and Texas aren’t far behind, either.

Manning said that he will visit Georgia this weekend when the Bulldogs host South Carolina. He’ll go to Alabama for their game against Ole Miss in October; he’ll go to Texas for their game against Oklahoma State in October; and then he’ll go Ole Miss for their home game against LSU the following week.

Manning’s recruitment is just starting to heat up and we don’t expect a decision to be made anytime soon. It will be interesting to see how things play out, but for now we can confidently say that the Tigers have as good a shot as any at landing the talented prospect.
