The Clemson football program has made it clear who its top quarterback target will be for the Class of 2023: 5-star QB Arch Manning.

Manning- the nephew of Peyton Manning & Eli Manning as well as the grandson of Archie Manning- comes from a legacy of success and he has been groomed to become an elite gunslinger seemingly since his childhood.

Manning and his family were on campus at Clemson just a couple of weeks ago as his first visit of the summer was to Tiger Town. The returns were great and there was a feeling out of the Clemson football program that they were legitimately in the running.

Yard Barker recently posted an article detailing the ‘three schools who have emerged as favorites for Arch Manning’ and Clemson football was included

The Yard Barker article referenced quotes from Rivals recruiting insider Adam Gorney. Here’s what he had to say about Manning’s recruitment currently:

"“If I had to take a shot right now and say where Arch Manning ends up I would pick Clemson first, Alabama second and then Texas third,” Gorney said."

Gorney mentioned Clemson as the slight leader with Alabama and Texas right behind. Of course, he said that things are fluid and can change rather quickly.

"“But that could definitely change over the course of the next two recruiting cycles and there’s no question the Longhorns rolled out the red carpet for Manning this past weekend and his trip and workout went well. The Mannings obviously know what they’re doing, though, and the Longhorns will need to show they can become a national power again before I see the 2023 five-star playing for them.”"

There’s no doubt that Clemson football will continue to recruit Manning and hold him in high regards as we head through the rest of this recruiting cycle. He’ll be heavily recruited by many schools- including the two mentioned above- and the Tigers will have the weather the storm through all of it.

Clemson’s biggest recruiting pitch to the Mannings right now has to be about family and the culture that Dabo Swinney has built. It’s clearly on display and it’s something that simply can’t be replicated elsewhere.

Manning is currently rated as the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2023 and the No. 1 QB in the nation, according to 247 Sports’ composite player rankings.

Next. Clemson can assume 'disrespected role' again. dark
