Five Clemson football players we’ll finally get to see showcased vs. S.C. State

2. Barrett Carter

Barrett Carter was another freshman who we’ve heard so much about during the preseason, but the opportunity for him to see the field was scarce over the course of the season-opener.

Carter registered one official snap in the game, but he did play special teams and came away with two assisted tackles, as well.

Now, here in Week 2, we expect the coaching staff to get him on the field and we expect it be rather early.

The Tigers have tons of talent on defense, but Carter is an explosive and versatile playmaker who still will find a role on this unit before it’s all said and done.

That begins this week when he gets on the field, likely to help spell Trenton Simpson and potentially even in a specialized package that features both him and Simpson on the field at the same time.
