Five encouraging signs for Clemson football as we move forward

2. The offense had its fair share of opportunities

For a game in which the narrative coming from many analysts is that Georgia dominated, Clemson sure did have plenty of opportunities.

The Tigers simply never capitalized.

The offense moved the ball a couple of times against UGA’s defense and they flashed potential. DJ Uiagalelei made some good throws as he settled in about midway through the third quarter, but it was just a comedy of errors that haunted the offense all night.

The offensive line missed assignments. Wide receivers ran the wrong route.

Dabo Swinney detailed some of these mistakes in his press conference on Tuesday.

While those mistakes certainly happened at an inopportune time, the one thing we can say is that the offense had some opportunities and they just didn’t convert. The vast majority of these problems seem to be fixable and there’s no doubt they’ll grow as the season progresses.
