The 2021 Clemson football season will be defined by these things

10. The Narrative

If you want to know the thing that will define this season more than anything else, we could argue that it’s “The Narrative.”

There’s a narrative out there stemming from Clemson’s losses to LSU, and most recently Ohio State, that the Tigers are on the downward trend. There are many who believe Clemson is only success because of the weak competition in the ACC.

As we said earlier, the outcome of the Georgia game will play a major factor in how these discussions are formulated over the course of the season.

But it’s not just the Georgia game that will determine the strength, or weakness, of this narrative as we move forward.

Does Clemson get back to the CFB Playoff? Do the Tigers find a way to get the job done or do they fall short? Does the defense look better or do they get roasted again when they play elite competition?

Clemson could put an end to this narrative by winning the National Championship or, at the very least, winning a game in the semifinals. The Tigers have a chance to prove themselves this season more so than any year we’ve seen in recent history.

The narrative has been established, but they have a chance to put an end to it.
