Three growing concerns for Clemson football coming out of fall camp 2021

3. Joseph Ngata injury bug

Joseph Ngata has shown flashes of being one of the best wide receivers on this roster.

The problem? He simply can’t stay healthy.

Ngata was hurt for the majority of the 2020 season, where he only ended up playing in four total games, and he has continued to battle the injury bug here in 2021.

Ngata has missed upwards of the last week with a hamstring injury and while he is expected back before the start of the season, this is becoming a growing concern.

He is a freakish body type and moves with great strides and ease down the field. That being said, none of that matters if he can’t get on the field at 100 percent.

There are other wide receivers who have stepped in fall camp like Ajou Ajou and Dacari Collins, and there are others like Justyn Ross, Frank Ladson Jr. and E.J. Williams who are primed for big years, but this receiving core could absolutely use Ngata and the hope is that he can finally get healthy.

For now, though, it’s tough to say that’s a guarantee.
