Biggest questions for Clemson football with the ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 alliance

2. Could this mean the end of non-conference matchups with the SEC?

If you’re going to ally yourself essentially against the SEC, you’ve got to wonder how those non-conference matchups with the SEC are going to play out.

Keep in mind that Clemson specifically has future non-conference matchups planned against South Carolina, Oklahoma and LSU, who are all SEC opponents.

Perhaps the conferences still remain friendly and you can keep those non-conference rivalries and planned games, but we also see a scenario where three conferences forming together causes the SEC to respond.

State Legislatures will be upset, but if Clemson is playing Ohio State and USC in the non-conference, that may not allow for the Tigers to still play South Carolina.

We don’t think the SEC will cut ties altogether because it needs the revenue of the CFB Playoff, but there certainly could be some severed ties that lead to non-conference matchups with the SEC coming into question.
