Three things we know about the DJ Uiagalelei Dr. Pepper ‘Fansville’ commercial

3. Dr. Pepper will be breaking the ‘fourth wall’ in the commercial

Just a couple of screenshots from the commercial have been released, but we can see that one presumptive line in the commercial will involve Dr. Pepper breaking the ‘fourth wall.’

According to the picture posted by DJ Uiagalelei from the commercial, a voice-over line can be read saying: “College athletes can be in commercials now?”

While many companies who have signed NIL endorsements have only focused on promoting their brand and haven’t even acknowledged the rule changes, it seems Dr. Pepper will be addressing the ‘fourth wall’ in a way and playing off the whole newness of NIL.

From previous reports, we can also say that Uiagalelei participated in a two-hour film session for the commercial at a local Clemson hotel and he did the entire bit in front of a green-screen.
