Three Clemson football freshmen already making a major impact in 2021

3. Marcus Tate

If you’ve been keeping up with any camp insider, you’ve likely read a lot about Marcus Tate.

Tate, who enrolled this January, weighed in at 327 pounds and has been one of the early standouts on the offensive line.

Though he’s a freshman, Tate has been taking snaps with the first-team and it’s our belief that the Clemson football coaching staff would like to utilize him as the starter at one of the guard positions with Matt Bockhorst moving over to center and Will Putnam manning the other guard spot.

There’s still a lot being thrown at Tate and nothing is for certain, but right now we would tell you that you shouldn’t be surprised if he is a starter his first game of the season and there’s no doubt that he will play a major role on the offensive line this year regardless of how the starting lineup shapes out.
