Clemson football fans are set to return to Death Valley at full capacity for the first time in nearly two years and there is growing excitement about what the 2021 season might hold.
While Clemson football fans are excited to see their Tigers in action, there has been a growing murmur from the crowd about the quality of games that we’ll see inside of Clemson Memorial Stadium this fall.
The Tigers will have just six home games and none of them are against marquee opponents who’ll be ranked inside the top-10 or even top-15.
Despite the dissatisfaction from many about the home slate, here’s a look at three games Tiger fans won’t want to miss.
3. S.C. State (Saturday, Sept. 11)
Now, I know what you’re thinking: You’re starting this list off with S.C. State? That shows just how bad the home slate is.
The reason S.C. State is on this list has nothing to do with the caliber of opponent or because of the product that we’ll see on the field from either team.
The reason Clemson fans won’t want to miss this one is because it’s the home opener. It’s the first game in which we’ll see a full capacity Death Valley since November 16, 2019 when the Tigers hosted Wake Forest.
Yes, it’s been that long since we’ve seen a full Death Valley.
The game on the field will leave much to be desired, but the atmosphere of having close to 80,000 people back together again will make the trip worth it.
The ‘big return’ to Death Valley is something that we all are going to enjoy and relish, no matter if the opponent is subpar or not.
