The Clemson football program will await decisions from two of its major remaining targets in the 2022 class this weekend.

5-star S Keon Sabb and 4-star CB Daylen Everette are set to announce their decisions on Saturday afternoon, both of which will be streamed on CBS Sports HQ. Sabb will announce his decision at 4 p.m. and Everette will follow with his decision at 5 p.m.

Clemson has been heavily involved in the recruitment of both and it’s clear that this could prove to be a big day- one way or another- for the Tigers as we head through the rest of this recruiting cycle.

Clemson football crystal ball prediction for 4-star CB Daylen Everette

We gave you our crystal ball prediction for 5-star Keon Sabb earlier and now it’s time to talk about Daylen Everette.

Everette is rated as the No. 7 CB in the nation by the 247 Sports’ composite player rankings and the No. 11 CB in the nation by Rivals.com. The 247 Sports composite rankings have him as the No. 40 overall player and Rivals has him as No. 78 overall in the country.

For the vast majority of his recruitment- at least through the last few months- Everette has been considered a lean to North Carolina. He has just one crystal ball prediction by 247 Sports experts put in and that was for the Tar Heels by Noles247’s Chris Nee with a ‘medium’ confidence. On the other hand, Rivals’ future cast has Clemson favored at 80 percent.

So what should Clemson football fans truly expect to happen Saturday afternoon with Everette?

Everette’s final three schools are Clemson, UNC and Georgia. While the Bulldogs have remained in the discussion and are continuing to recruit him, the vast majority of expert believe they’re out of the running.

You’ve got to keep in mind that Clemson already has one CB commitment in 4-star Toriano Pride and the Tigers are heavily targeting 4-star CB Jeadyn Lukus, as well. They’d like to have three corners in this class, with Everette being the third, but you’ve got to believe that the Tar Heels have floated ‘early playing time’ as a major pitch to him.

Ultimately, we think this one could go either way and feel pretty good about the Tigers’ chances. That being said, we’re still going to give the slightest upper hand to North Carolina at this point just because of how involved the Tar Heels have been with him.

Clemson has made a nice surge and it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see the Tigers garner his commitment, but we’re going to peg it as 51 percent he chooses UNC, 49 percent he chooses Clemson.

UPDATE (SATURDAY AM): As you can see, we originally pegged Everette as the slightest lean to UNC. Following updated information received last night, we can now say our forecast moves the needle in Clemson’s favor as we zero in on his decision.
