Clemson football: Ranking all 12 games on the 2021 schedule by difficulty
4. @ Pittsburgh Panthers (Oct. 23)
Clemson will make its first trip in program history to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers on October 23 and this could be a little tricky if everything played out the wrong way for the Tigers.
Pitt will have QB Kenny Pickett back for a fifth-year and he’ll be throwing to a group of experienced wide receivers.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Panthers have a deep linebacker group and CB Damarri Mathis headlines the secondary.
Pittsburgh is going to have a tough time competing with UNC and Miami in the coastal division, but the Panthers absolutely have the talent to compete and finish ahead of the likes of Virginia Tech and Virginia in that division.
As a matter of fact, when you look at the experience returning and what Pat Narduzzi has done with that program, I think there’s an outside chance Pittsburgh could be ranked inside the top-25 when the Tigers travel up to Pennsylvania in late October.
