Clemson football: Ranking all 12 games on the 2021 schedule by difficulty
5. vs. Florida State Seminoles (Oct. 30)
There probably isn’t a bigger running disappointment in the ACC right now than Florida State.
Though the Seminoles have recruited top-tier talent in terms of star-ratings for quite some time, they’ve been largely irrelevant for more than a half-decade now.
FSU is looking to take big steps forward this season in Mike Norvell’s second season as the head coach and there are reasons for optimism among Seminole circles heading into 2021. There is talent and Florida State finally has a potential answer at quarterback in UCF transfer McKenzie Milton.
Milton has the ability to potentially work himself into a first-round before it’s all said and done, but there is one problem: The offensive line.
The Seminoles still have work to do if they’re going to build depth and talent on that offensive line and it’s going to be a problem this year when they match up with Clemson and what might be the deepest defensive line that Brent Venables has ever had.
In addition to Clemson’s upper hand in depth, we shouldn’t forget what happened last year in Tallahassee. It’s clear that Dabo Swinney hasn’t.
