The Clemson football program picked up three huge commitments during the month of June to  bring the 2022 class to eight commitments total.

Clemson picked up commitments from 4-star CB Toriano Pride, 4-star S Sherrod Covil and 4-star DE Jihaad Campbell this past month.

In addition to garnering the three commits, the Tigers hosted no official visits, but had numerous prospects on campus for unofficial visits that took place throughout the weeks of June and especially during the Dabo Swinney Football Camp and the inaugural Elite Retreat.

As we head into the month of July, here’s a look at the top 2022 remaining prospects for Clemson football

We’ll go ahead and point out that Clemson football is done with the quarterback position for this class and has been ever since the commitment of 4-star QB Cade Klubnik.

Running Back

  • 4-star Trevor Etienne

The Tigers have their eyes on a couple more running backs if Etienne falls through, but it’s clear currently that he is the top priority in this class at the position.

Wide Receiver

  • 4-star Brenen Thompson
  • 4-star Antonio Williams
  • 4-star Andre Green Jr.

Brenen Thompson recently released a top-six that included Clemson and it seems that his in-state school of Texas will be the major competition. The Tigers are also in well with in-state SC product Antonio Williams at the position.

Offensive Line

  • 4-star Julian Armella

Clemson already has two commitments on the offensive line and the overarching consensus is that the Tigers *might* take one more if everything aligned as they wanted it to. They’re going to slow-play the position for now, though.

Tight End

  • 4-star Jaleel Skinner
  • 4-star Oscar Delp

The Tigers want to take one tight end in this cycle and they’re heavily entrenched in battles for both 4-star TE Jaleel Skinner (in-state product) and 4-star Oscar Delp. We wouldn’t necessarily say that Clemson is leading for either prospect, but the Tigers certainly aren’t out of the mix in any way, either.

Defensive End

  • 5-star Jeremiah Alexander
  • 4-star DJ Wesolak
  • 4-star Cyrus Moss

With the commitment of 4-star Jihaad Campbell, the Clemson football coaching staff will zero-in on 5-star Jeremiah Alexander as their potential second commitment at the position. If things go south with Alexander, that’s when we expect traction to pick up elsewhere.

Defensive Tackle

  • 5-star Travis Shaw
  • 5-star Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy
  • 4-star Caden Curry

Travis Shaw has been the top target at this position for the entirety of the cycle and it will remain that way. Clemson has garnered interested from both Brownlow-Dindy and Curry. Brownlow-Dindy is expected to be on campus later this month for the All-In Cookout.

Cornerback

  • 5-star Jeadyn Lukus
  • 4-star Daylen Everette

In-state product Jeadyn Lukus is seemingly down to Clemson and UNC, and the Tar Heels certainly have a legitimate chance.  The Tigers already have one cornerback commit, but the consensus is that they’ll at least take two and there’s a chance they could take a third (Daylen Everette potentially) before the cycle comes to a close.

Safety

  • 5-star Keon Sabb
  • 4-star Zion Branch

With a commitment from Sherrod Covil, Clemson is seemingly zeroing-in on Keon Sabb for its second safety spot. There are a few other options- like Zion Branch, for example- that the Tigers could potentially get involved if things didn’t work out with Sabb as they’re hoping.
