While Darien Rencher may not be a starter or ‘star player’ on the Clemson football team, he is still one of the most recognized athletes on this squad because of his community work and leadership.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger, Rencher revealed that he is exploring many avenues in which to benefit from his name, image and likeness.

"“Oh, the plan’s in place, baby,” Rencher said earlier this month. “You build something before the rain happens. I think a lot of college [athletes], speaking for myself, we all have platforms, we all have social media, we all live in communities where we play sports. I think the plan would be to just be who you are but not have restrictions on it.”"

Rencher, who was given the Disney Spirit Award this past year, said he will be working to market his brand as best as possible.

"“If this thing gets passed y’all are going to see me work all the tricks and trades. I think I could do anything, but I’ll definitely work the smile, I’ll be on there talking, saying something. I think I would just try to add value,” Rencher said. “It’s nothing new that’s going to happen. It’s marketing. It’s the same thing when guys leave. A guy like Trevor Lawrence or Travis [Etienne] leaves, they’re able to use their platform to add more value to a bigger brand or smaller platform. And do these endorsement deals. With local business around here, if you can help our value or bring notoriety, people see us and we can bridge that gap.”"

Currently, Rencher has nearly 8K followers on Twitter and more than 40K followers on Instagram.
