Clemson football: Cade Klubnik close to passing Ty Simpson in recruiting rankings
The 2022 Clemson football recruiting class only has four commitments as we head into the summer months, but there is belief and optimism that things are about to start picking up in a big way.
The Tigers are back to hosting in-person recruiting visits and there has been an excitement on the recruiting trail from prospects that wasn’t necessarily seen over the last year.
Still, as we look at the four current commitments in the class of 2022 for Clemson football, we can see that the Tigers clearly got some talented players.
Among the biggest risers? 4-star Clemson football QB commit Cade Klubnik
We told you before Cade Klubnik ever committed to Clemson that he was going to be a large-riser over the next few months and that has played out in a big way.
Klubnik, who committed to Clemson just days after receiving an offer from the Tigers earlier this spring, jumped up 12 spots in the latest rendition of the Rivals’ recruiting rankings. Klubnik is now rated No. 28 overall and is considered the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the nation.
Interestingly enough, Klubnik is just the second-highest rated 4-star in the class (he could be a 5-star in the next set of rankings if he continues his trend upwards) and he is just one spot behind Ty Simpson (former 5-star, now considered a 4-star and ranked No. 27 overall), who selected Alabama over Clemson before the Tigers had offered Klubnik.
As players begin going through camps and working out for coaches, we’re going to see plenty of changes in recruiting rankings. Many players who were at the top of these rankings at the beginning are sliding while others are rising to the top- just as Klubnik is.
4-star WR commit Adam Randall moved into the Rivals 250 and is now ranked No. 228 overall. 4-star OL Collin Sadler (No. 110) and 4-star OL Blake Miller (No. 115) were also included in the latest rankings.
