Clemson football has its sights set on winning its seventh straight ACC conference title and its third national title under head coach Dabo Swinney in 2021.

Like we saw after the 2016 Clemson football national title and the departure of then quarterback Deshaun Watson, many believe that the Tigers are cycling out despite the fact that the roster is the deepest and most talented that it has ever been under any head coach.

The 2021 version of Clemson football is more than capable of running the table and capturing another national title as sophomore quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei takes the reign’s full-time of the high-powered Tigers attack that was vacated by the 2021 NFL draft’s top pick, Trevor Lawrence.

Statistically, Clemson football is among the favorites in 2021

According to the advanced statistical website, Pro Football Focus, Clemson football has a 17 percent chance of winning the 2021 College Football Playoff and a 58 percent chance of winning the ACC.

Only Alabama has a higher chance of winning the national title in 2021 with a 23 percent chance.

PFF also says both Oklahoma and Ohio State have a 13 percent chance of winning a national title and 2021 season-opening opponent UGA has a seven percent chance at winning their first title in college football since 1980.

When talking about the Tigers chances to win the national title, PFF had this to say

"“Like Alabama, Clemson lost significant pieces to the NFL. But unlike Alabama, we were able to see the heir apparent to Trevor Lawrence last year in D.J. Uiagalelei, who in 124 dropbacks earned a 77.6 passing grade, making five big-time throws while generating zero turnover-worthy plays (and no interceptions, to boot). The market is super heavy on the Tigers to win the ACC (-835), which is a bit steep, but they should be in the mix come December, as they always are.”"

There is a long road to travel before we get to December and the participants in the 2021 College Football Playoffs announced.

You won’t find anyone within the Clemson football program talking about their chances to win a title as their attention will be squarely on getting better this summer and preparing to the standard that has been set by those that have come before them.

Tigers defense must recapture the physicality they once possessed. dark. Next
