Trevor Lawrence could make an appearance on AEW professional wrestling
Former Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence has been all over the spectrum during the last few months.
Lawrence held his own Pro Day earlier this spring before shoulder surgery and has done countless media appearances since that point. He was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and has signed numerous endorsement deals to this point with major companies, including Adidas, Gatorade and Blockfolio.
Now, the rumor mill is swirling and Trevor Lawrence’s next appearance could be something absolutely crazy: Professional wrestling.
All Elite Wrestling, or AEW for short, has been based out of Jacksonville, FLA at Daily’s Place for the last year since the pandemic. The wrestling promotion is pulling in a little more than a million viewers a week for its show ‘Dynamite’ on Wednesdays and the company just started a second show on Friday nights.
On Sunday, AEW will host what is expected to be its biggest pay per view event in its history through an annual title called ‘Double or Nothing.’
In a press conference earlier this week, AEW star Cody Rhodes was asked if new Jaguars stars Tim Tebow or Trevor Lawrence might make an appearance at ‘Double or Nothing.’
While he wasn’t about to give away any secrets, Rhodes did say that many of the AEW stars share a lot of the same space with the Jaguars and that he was happy to see both Tebow and Lawrence in the market.
AEW is set to host one live match inside of the Jaguars’ stadium this Sunday as part of the Pay Per View and it will feature The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana and Ortiz) against The Pinnacle (MJF, FTR, Wardlow and Shawn Spears).
While it’s not likely, it would be fun to see Trevor Lawrence make a little cameo inside of his new professional home
AEW has not been shy to welcome celebrities and stars into its shows in the past. The promotion just recently had a match that involved former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal.
This seems like the perfect opportunity for the promotion to ‘score big’ and for Lawrence to acquaint himself with his new home.
The Stadium Stampede match will likely be fought throughout TIAA Bank Field- including the field, bleachers, concession stands, boxes and even locker rooms- and it would be fun to see Lawrence show up at some point just for a nice little cameo.
There’s no way the Jaguars will allow him to do anything even in the slightest bit physical- especially with him returning from the shoulder surgery- but there are still a lot of options for his appearance that wouldn’t involve any physicality and it would absolutely set the internet on fire if it happened.
Does it seem likely to happen? No. But Clemson football fans still shouldn’t be surprised if they’re scrolling through Twitter and see a far-fetched appearance from Trevor Lawrence like this at some point in the future.
