There’s no doubt that the Clemson football team has a chance to be a major contender during the 2021 season.

While the Tigers might have to replace two historical talents in QB Trevor Lawrence and RB Travis Etienne, they return nearly every starter from last year’s defense and are adding a ton of talent on that side of the ball.

Offensively, Clemson has one of the best quarterbacks in the nation to replace Lawrence in D.J. Uiagalelei and the Tigers have a plethora of talented skill position players, including Justyn Ross, Frank Ladson Jr., Joseph Ngata, Lyn-J Dixon, Braden Galloway, Kobe Pace as well as freshmen Will Shipley and Phil Mafah just to name a few.

As the Tigers begin their summer workouts, veteran leader Darien Rencher posted on Twitter that he sees something “special” with this Clemson football team.

Darien Rencher sees up-close and personal what Clemson football fans are hoping is true

When you look at this team, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the potential of winning big.

The defense has plenty of experience and talent. They’re going to have the deepest front-seven that they’ve had since the 2018 season– when they won the National Championship- and many believe this defensive line has the ceiling to be even better than that group.

There’s no doubt that Lawrence and Etienne will be huge losses, but when you look at the amount of talent that the offense possesses, many believe this unit could be the most explosive that we’ve seen in the Dabo Swinney era.

Rencher sees all of that.

As the Tigers get back on campus and begin going through summer workouts, there just seems like there’s something different about the mentality of this team and how they’re going through their preparations. If that’s true, they could end up being special.
