Clemson football is the only FBS program in the country to make six consecutive College Football Playoffs, given the 14 year run of Alabama, which is impressive. Of their six consecutive appearances, they have only been lower than a two seed once – in 2019 when they lost to LSU in the national title game.

With the talk of expanding the College Football Playoffs over the last several weeks by the actual committee, Clemson football will undoubtedly be able to keep this streak alive for far longer than just the coming 2021 season.

While the current format is not set to change anytime soon, there have been expansion talks among those within the College Football and the models that they have discussed have been everything from six to 16 teams.

It is hard to imagine a Clemson football program that keeps getting better and better being left out of a playoff with more teams being admitted into the chaos.

The best is yet to come for Clemson football

We know, some may be tired of hearing this from Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney but it is hard to argue that he isn’t correct. His track record of speaking things into existence and then working tirelessly until it comes to fruition is unmatched.

We have roughly four months until Clemson and Georgia kick off in Charlotte, so there will be lots of time to dissect both the individual and collective talent of this current roster; as we have stated there has never been a Clemson football team more talented than the 2021 version.

Given that Clemson football still has not peaked despite six straight College Football Playoff appearances and winning multiple national titles, it is unlikely that should the playoffs expand that the Tigers will not be among the Top 6-16 teams over the next decade.

Is that too optimistic? Probably, but what gives anyone with rational thought to believe that given the recruiting and development that takes place in Clemson that the Tigers are anywhere close to being on the backend of the success slope?

The best is clearly yet to come no matter how badly people in Athens, Columbia, Columbus, Eugene, Los Angeles, or Norman want the Tigers to falter so that they can have an easier passageway to the crown.
