Former Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday evening.

Anyone who has been keeping up with draft proceedings shouldn’t have been surprised to see Lawrence go No. 1 overall and the Jaguars faithful were absolutely excited to make it official on Thursday.

Now, the truth comes to the forefront. Trevor Lawrence is going to be a polarizing figure- one way or another – for the Jaguars.

Trevor Lawrence will either be the savior of the Jacksonville Jaguars, or he’ll be one of the most-hated of all-time in that market

Let’s be honest here: Jaguars nation hasn’t been this excited about a draft pick in a long time, maybe ever.

Just like they were when Lawrence came to Clemson, expectations are going to be through-the-roof in a way that it will be difficult for him to do any wrong without someone questioning him or putting him under a microscope.

In the end, Lawrence is either going to excel and become one of the greatest- if not the greatest- to ever play in Jacksonville. Or, he’s going to falter and he’ll become one of the most disappointing- and hated by many fans- in the history of the organization.

Talk about a place to be.

If we know anything about Trevor Lawrence, though, it’s that he doesn’t succumb to pressure and that he is one of the greatest to ever play the game.

He has every tool necessary to be successful at the next level and there’s no doubt he’ll do everything in his power to continue to improve and to take the Jaguars to becoming postseason competitors.

If we were betting on it, we’d bet on Trevor Lawrence.

He came to Clemson with expectations through the roof and left the program as a National Champion, Heisman finalist and as the winningest QB in the history of the program. That makes us think he’s going to just fine at his next stop.
