Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence is about to be taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and it’s not even any kind of a secret.
Jacksonville Jaguars fans raised money to celebrate Lawrence’s wedding- which turned into a charity donation- and the Jacksonville mayor arranged for the famous downtown bridge to be lit up in Clemson colors on Thursday as the city prepares for Lawrence to be officially welcomed to the Jaguars.
With all the hype surrounding Trevor Lawrence, it should come as no surprise that many more are wanting to jump on the bandwagon.
One of those is famous QB and Minor League baseball player Tim Tebow.
Tim Tebow wants to play with Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville
Tebow has grown up in the area, so it should come as no surprise that he is feeling the excitement that is residing in Jacksonville currently with the Lawrence and incoming coach Urban Meyer.
Meyer, by the way, was Tebow’s coach back in his collegiate days when he played for the University of Florida.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that Tebow had recently worked out as a tight end for the Jaguars and there has been some discussion of him signing a contract.
The Jaguars are going to make moves that they feel will make the franchise better and there’s no doubt that there will be a certain level of publicity that will be felt within the organization if they were to bring in Tebow.
Keep in mind that Tebow will be 34 years old when the 2021 NFL season begins this coming fall and he has never played the position.
It’s not all that likely at his age that he would be able to come in and make any kind of an impact where we’d actually see Lawrence complete a pass to him in a game.
Anything is possible, though.
