Clemson football: Predicting where each Tiger lands in 2021 NFL Draft
Clemson football fans won’t have to wait long Thursday evening to hear a Tigers’ name come off the board.
The 2021 NFL Draft is set to begin tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN and the NFL Network. Clemson football is expected to have five players taken in the draft during the three-day event and the first overall pick in the draft seems to be set in stone with Trevor Lawrence.
As we continue to countdown the time until Draft Night, let’s take a look at some predictions.
Predicting where each Clemson football player ends up being drafted
Trevor Lawrence: Jacksonville Jaguars
We’ll start with the most obvious.
Trevor Lawrence is going to be taken with the No. 1 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars and that should be no surprise to anyone who has kept up with the draft process.
Travis Etienne: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have been reportedly extremely interested in Travis Etienne and, while it could just be a smoke screen, something tells us that there is legitimate interest in pairing him with Josh Allen in the backfield.
Etienne would be a major upgrade at the running back position and would be a great tool for the Bills in both the running and passing game.
Amari Rodgers: Arizona Cardinals
There are a lot of places Amari Rodgers could end up as he is considered a fringe Round 2, most likely Round 3 prospect. The Cardinals want a wide receiver in the mid-rounds and they love what they have in DeAndre Hopkins. Could Rodgers be the perfect pairing?
Jackson Carman: Jacksonville Jaguars
I’m convinced that the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to take more than just one Clemson player in the draft and Jackson Carman might be the answer. It could be any of the other Tigers- or even multiples- but something tells me there at the beginning of the third-round that the Jags bring in Carman to help solidify their offensive line and build in front of Lawrence with a familiar face.
Cornell Powell: Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have shown great interest in several Clemson football players this draft and it’s my belief that they’ll finally end the streak of not taking a Tiger. Powell will fit in perfectly and could be considered one of the steals of the draft when he’s taken in the fifth-round.
