The Trevor Lawrence doubters have come out of the woodwork following some comments he made during an interview with Sports Illustrated for the publication’s cover story.

In the story, Sports Illustrated covered all facets of Trevor Lawrence’s life from his faith to his family to his wedding to his community involvement and, of course, football.

However, there were a few quotes within that article that now have fans doubting what Lawrence will become at the next level.

Since that point thousands of Twitter users have posted their *totally unbiased and not at all triggered* comments about Lawrence and how he’s going to totally be a bust at the next level.

It’s amazing how many New York Jets fans are quick to jump on the ‘Trevor is going to be a bust train’ after they literally trashed their own franchise just a few months prior when they won too many games and didn’t lock up the No. 1 spot to draft him.

Despite what Trevor Lawrence doubters have to say about him, Urban Meyer doesn’t seem to care

In an interview on Michael Irvin’s podcast, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said the Jags are leaning towards Lawrence and that the former Clemson quarterback “checks all the boxes.”

He is competitive, tough and a good leader. He is intelligent and has the ability to adapt on the fly. Those are the words Meyer used to describe Lawrence.

In addition to Meyer’s words about Lawrence, it was reported earlier in the week that the Jaguars have given Trevor Lawrence the playbook for the fall and he’s already studying it like a member of the team.

So, who should we believe when it comes to the evaluation of Lawrence?

Should we believe the random twitter user or anonymous commenters who have never played a down of football in their life? The ‘hot take’ analysts who scream for attention every single time they’re able to?

Or should we believe the championship-winning coach who has been around the game for decades and has seen first-hand what a winning quarterback looks like? I think we’ll go with Meyer on this one.

We could be wrong. Maybe Meyer is scheduled to have a meeting with that random Jets fan on Twitter before NFL Draft night, but it seems more and more that he- or the Jaguars, for that matter- don’t care what the doubters have to say because they’ve done their own evaluations and know what they’re getting in Trevor Lawrence.
