Clemson defensive back Tanner Muse (19) tackles South Carolina running back Tavien Feaster(4) during their game at the Gamecocks’ Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, Saturday, November 30, 2019.Clemsonusc Mb10 11302019 /

Tavien Feaster

When Spartanburg native Tavien Feaster announced he was coming to be part of Clemson football, the Tiger fans around the state of South Carolina could not have been any happier.

Feaster was the top player in the state, was the top running back in the country, and was a top 30 player nationally. There was a lot of reason to be excited.

Unfortunately for Feaster, he came in at the end of Wayne Gallman’s Clemson football career and was there for the first two years of Travis Etienne’s career, he was the odd man out and not because he lacked talent but because those two guys simply had more of it.

Etienne left college football as the all-time leader in every ACC and Clemson rushing record there is.

Tavien would transfer and spend his last year of eligibility in Columbia hoping to gain more field time and show the NFL that he had what it took to play at the next level. Sadly, while he did get more playing time, it didn’t turn into an NFL career for him.
