Clemson football: Pair of 4-star CBs trending towards Tigers

The Clemson football program is still seeking its first defensive commitment in the class of 2022.

The Tigers currently hold four commits- all 4-stars- on the offensive side of the ball, but they haven’t necessarily had the results that many fans have hoped for on the defensive recruiting trail as of yet.

Of course, the cycle is just heating up and with prospects allowed to take visits beginning this summer, we’ll start to see the playing field even back out a little more for Clemson.

A pair of 4-star cornerbacks are trending towards Clemson football

As we end the spring and begin to focus on the summer recruiting, two 4-star cornerbacks are trending towards the Tigers. Though, this isn’t necessarily new.

4-star Toriano Pride– a native of Saint Louis, MO- has been considered a lean to Clemson since the turn of the calendar year and 247 Sports’ National Recruiting Expert Steve Wiltfong put in a crystal ball prediction in the Tigers’ favor for Pride and listed that prediction with ‘medium confidence.’

We’ve also learned that Pride is one of several prospects who will be on campus for Clemson’s Elite Retreat June 11-12.

In addition to Pride, 247 Sports’ Wiltfong just put in another crystal ball in favor of Clemson football. Wiltfong predicted 4-star CB Jeadyn Lukus to the Tigers with a ‘high confidence.’

Lukus, an in-state product from Mauldin, has been considered a lean to the Tigers for quite some time now and it seems he is inching ever so closely to making a decision.

We should expect that Lukus will likely still take some visits this summer before he makes a final decision, but things are looking good for Clemson currently.

The Tigers are in need of a couple of highly-talented cornerbacks in this class and this duo would be exactly what they’re looking for.
