Clemson football: 4 former Tigers who still need an NFL home in 2021
Former Clemson football players who still need an NFL home as we head into 2021
The Clemson football program has put quite a few players in the league over the last decade under the leadership of Dabo Swinney.
As we sit right now, there are 32 Tigers on current NFL rosters and there are several others who might very well find their way onto a team through the draft and free-agency.
Here’s a look at four former Clemson football players who are still in need of an NFL home through free-agency as we head into the spring of 2021.
Wayne Gallman
Wayne Gallman was drafted in the fourth-round by the New York Giants and has been a solid running back options for the franchise during his four-year career to this point.
In a total of 53 games, Gallman has rushed 338 times for 1,444 yards (4.3 YPC) and nine touchdowns.
Unfortunately for him, he just has been put in a bad spot with the Giants featuring Pro-Bowler Saquon Barkley more than anything.
In this past season, Barkley only played in two games and it seemed as if Gallman would get an opportunity. He went on to start 10 games and rushed for a career-best 682 yards and six touchdowns. However, at this point, it doesn’t seem that the Giants are willing to pay him what he’s asking and the two parties will seemingly part ways.
While it’s not likely we see Gallman in a Giants uniform next year, there’s no doubt he’ll end up somewhere before it’s all said and done.
