The Clemson football program will welcome a major visitor later this summer as the Tigers look to rebound and zero-in on some top prospects for the remainder of this 2022 recruiting class.

Clemson football sent out an offer to 4-star RB Branson Robinson earlier this week and the running back is planning to be in attendance for the Tigers’ Elite Retreat on June 11th & June 12th.

Assuming he does make the trip, this would be a big opportunity for Clemson– which plans to take one running back in the 2022 cycle.

At this point, it’s believed that Georgia is the frontrunner for Robinson’s services and the Bulldogs are set to take two running backs in this cycle. Of course, they already have one commitment in 4-star RB Jordan James.

In addition to Georgia, Clemson will be competing heavily with Alabama and Mississippi State.

Clemson football will allow the June retreat to set its course in recruiting for this cycle

This Elite Retreat in June is going to be a major spectacle for Clemson football fans to beholden.

While every top target won’t be on campus for the retreat, there are going to be quite a few in attendance and that bodes big for the Tigers.

Clemson has been hurt- as has many other programs around the country- by the NCAA’s decision to not allow prospects to visit over the past year.

With those visits soon being allowed to take place, the Tigers will hopefully be able to rebound and come away with a successful class before it’s all said and done.

Robinson is the considered the No. 102 player nationally and the No. 7 running back in the country, according to 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings. He is rated as the No. 1 running back in the country by Rivals. Robinson is the No. 2 player from the state of Mississippi, according to 247.
