Elite recruiting visit set to take place in June for Clemson football

The Clemson football program is scheduling its first set of recruiting visits for the first time in more than a year later this summer.

Dubbed the ‘Elite Retreat,’ Clemson football will host a gathering of some of the top prospects in the country on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13.

The gathering will allow recruits an opportunity to take a ‘deep dive into the Clemson football program’ and give the coaches a chance to look at some of their top prospects, who will only be in attendance by invitation only.

4-star QB commit Cade Klubnik was the first to post on social media about the event.

The Tigers have asked all four of their commitments for the 2022 class to save the date and there should be a list of prospects in the near future who’ll be receiving invites.

Clemson football has some work to do on the recruiting trail and getting visits back will make a major difference

The NCAA has not officially ended the dead period- which has been in effect for more than a year- but it’s expected to do so rather soon. According to reports, the period will come to an end of June 1st.

We’re already seeing many prospects begin to schedule official visits to schools, but we should maintain that those who are in attendance for this weekend’s event won’t be taking official visits.

Instead, they’ll be coming in as part of an unofficial visit.

Dabo Swinney has always maintained that he keeps official visits for the fall and that is still likely to be the case for this summer, despite the long hiatus of recruits being allowed to take visits.

While nothing has been set in stone, we do expect some names like 5-star DT Travis Shaw,  4-star in-state WR Antonio Williams (who does not have a Clemson offer yet), 4-star RB Trevor Etienne, 4-star TE Jaleel Skinner, 4-star OT Kiyaunta Goodwin, 5-star DT Walter Nolen, 4-star LB Daniel Martin, 4-star CB Jeadyn Lukus, 4-star DB Ryan Turner among others to be invited.
