The top 2022 linebacker target for Clemson football is set to make a decision

One of the top targets in the class of 2022 for Clemson football is set to make his decision.

Jalon Walker, a 4-star LB from Salisbury, NC, is rated as the No. 4 OLB in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina, according to the 247 Sports’ composite player rankings. Walker also ranks No. 50 nationally and is considered by many to be a potential 5-star in ratings before it’s all said and done.

Walker will announce his choice on Sunday, March 28th. He has a listed final group of Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, North Carolina and Georgia.

So, where might Walker land? What are the experts saying?

Clemson football is the considered the overarching favorite coming into decision week

If you’ve been following Walker’s recruitment, then you know that he has been a heavy Clemson lean for quite some time.

Walker has been recruited heavily by the likes Georgia, North Carolina and Ohio State, but the overarching feeling since he announced that he would be committing this early into the cycle has been that he’d choose the Tigers.

While Ohio State, for example, has been one of the heavy recruiters, Walker has yet to make a trip to Columbus.

He’s visited Clemson, on the other hand, several times and just took a self-guided tour in Tiger Town a couple of weeks ago.

There have been four 247 Sports recruiting insiders who have placed crystal ball predictions on where Walker will land. All four have been to Clemson football and three of them were considered ‘high’ confidence.

Walker announced that he would be letting his finalists know his decision before he made it public and nothing is for certain, but things are looking good for the Tigers currently.
