There are actual Rutgers fans who want to see a win over Clemson basketball. Who knew?

If you know anything about Rutgers when it comes to athletics, you likely know more than the average person.

The Clemson basketball team will take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this Friday evening in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and there are many analysts who are predicting 10th-seeded Rutgers to knock off the 7th-seeded Tigers.

While Rutgers may be the most disinterested Power-5 athletic department in the country, it turns out that there are, in fact, fans of the Scarlet Knights.

Though Rutgers plays in the Big Ten, the Scarlet Knights don’t typically post ‘Big Ten-esque’ numbers when it comes to fan attendance. Rutgers had just over 30,000 fans in attendance for its football games back in 2019 and the Scarlet Knights had an average of about 6,764 fans for its basketball games during the same season.

Despite poor attendance, it turns out that there are some avid Rutgers fans who would love nothing more than to see their team knock off Clemson basketball on Friday night. Who knew?

While they are few, they do seem to be proud and confident when it comes to their team and that should be admired.

Clemson basketball has a chance to go deep in the tournament, but it all starts with Rutgers

This Clemson basketball team has every capability in the world of advancing deep into the tournament and competing.

The Tigers have shown us that they have the potential to compete with whoever you put on the court against them, but it’s not going to matter if they don’t show up against Rutgers.

This is a dangerous Scarlet Knight team that some analysts believe could win a couple of games in the tournament. Clemson needs to be focused on the task at hand and do everything in its power to put together the best game of its season to this point on Friday when the Tigers take the floor.
