Clemson football: The top offensive 2022 recruiting targets at each position
The top 2022 offensive recruiting targets at each position for Clemson football
One of the many things we’ve learned by getting to know Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney over the years is that he always has a plan and that is absolutely the case when it comes to recruiting.
College Football consistently deals with turnover and to remain on top- as the Tigers have made six-straight CFB Playoff appearances- it takes making the right decisions and evaluations on the recruiting trail. More times than not, we’ve seen Clemson hit on its top targets and we’ve seen those targets turn out to be stars.
As we look at this 2022 Clemson football recruiting class- which currently has four commitments- Rubbing the Rock will be giving you a breakdown of the top prospects in the cycle and who the Tigers are currently targeting heavily.
This is a two-part series that will begin with the offensive side of the ball.
To begin, let’s take a look at the top targets at each position- including commitments and likely commitments- for Clemson in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
Quarterback (3 offers)
Commits: Cade Klubnik (4-star QB; Austin, Texas)
Top Targets:
- None.
The latest commitment in this 2022 Clemson football recruiting class was 4-star QB Cade Klubnik. Klubnik was the third QB offer of the cycle for the Tigers, but it was clear he wanted to be a part of the program from the very beginning.
When 5-star Ty Simpson chose Alabama, Clemson promptly gave Klubnik the official offer and he committed just four days later.
Klubnik has all the traits to be a top quarterback in the nation and he has played against elite competition at the highest level of Texas high school football for three years and just recently led his high school to another state championship by outdueling 5-star QB Quinn Ewers- the No. 1 prospect in the country currently- who is committed to Ohio State.
His commitment wraps up the recruitment at the quarterback position and the Tigers will begin to look ahead to the 2023 class. But what about the other offensive positions?
