Clemson football: 5 Tigers we wish would’ve played during the Dabo Swinney era
Woody Dantzler
Perhaps Woody Dantzler wouldn’t have had the arm talent to compete in today’s college football, but it’s my opinion that Dantzler was ahead of his time.
Dantzler played for Clemson from 1998-2001 and he finished his career throwing for 5,639 yards and 36 touchdowns to 23 interceptions. While those stats aren’t going to blow anyone away, it would’ve been interested to see his talents magnified in today’s current offense.
Perhaps he wouldn’t have been able to achieve results like Deshaun Watson or Trevor Lawrence in the current age of offense, but it would’ve been fun to see him try.
Anyone that saw Dantzler play came away impressed with his elite athleticism and it would’ve been fun to see how he could’ve developed in a spread offense under the coaching of Dabo Swinney and Brandon Streeter.
